Injured were Jeffrey D. Hochstedler, 53, of Goshen, Alden M. ‘Doc’ Fausnaugh, 75, of Ligonier, and Marvey Sponhauer of Ligonier. No age was available for Sponhauer, who is a retired schoolteacher.Police said...

AUBURN — Local police officers arrested five people Monday and Tuesday, according to DeKalb County Jail records.
Renwood A. Thacker, 23, of the 1300 block of South Jackson Street, Auburn, was arrested at 5:46 p.m. Monday by Auburn Police on a Whitley County warrant, charging Thacker with criminal deception, a Class A misdemeanor. Thacker was transported to Whitley County at 7:30 p.m.
Matthew A. Burritt, 28, of the 500 block of South Wayne Street, Waterloo, was arrested at 12:05 a.m....

KENDALLVILLE — Police found an 18-year-old with a glass smoking device Thursday, Aug. 26, after investigating a report of possible drug activity near the Bixler Lake Park basketball courts.
At about 7:16 p.m. police were called to a pavilion near the courts and made contact with three males fitting the description provided in the report. One of the males had the smoking device.
No arrests were made.
Police forwarded a report to the Noble County prosecutor for possible filing of...

LAOTTO — A New Haven woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of C.R. 327 and C.R. 68 in DeKalb County Tuesday evening.
Evelyn Dolores Todd, of Hew Haven, was traveling north on C.R. 327 when her 1997 Toyota Avalon was struck on the passenger’s side by a 2000 GMC Sonoma driven by Larissa Christina Moreno, of Churubusco.

ANGOLA — The following people were arrested Tuesday by law enforcement officers working in Steuben County and lodged in the Steuben County Jail:
• Janice Kay Lower, 52, Hudson, arrested on a warrant for civil contempt of court.
• Anthony Joseph Sitts, 41, Fremont, arrested on a warrant for misdemeanor domestic battery.
