Annual Halloweenfest is on Oct. 26

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s annual Halloweenfest will be held Oct. 26, beginning with the Chamber’s downtown trick-or-treat from noon-2 p.m.

There will be free hayrides, trick-or-treating and fun throughout downtown Churubusco.

Turtle Days will sponsor a pumpkin decorating contest with cash prizes. The organization will also be selling chili and hot dogs.

Maps of participants will be available at the town’s station in front of St. John Bosco Church.

A costume contest begins at 2:30 p.m. at Ranney’s Body Shop’s parking lot. There will be prizes for categories ranging from birth to adult.

Then, townwide trick-or-treat is from 5-7 p.m.

Smith-Green school board meeting is this Monday

CHURUBUSCO — Smith-Green Community Schools’ monthly board meeting will be held Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. in the SGCS Administrative Center.

Town approves AED purchases

CHURUBUSCO — The Churubusco Town Council approved the purchase of 10 Automatic External Defibrillators, AED, at a board meeting last month.

The life-saving devices will be placed in police squad cars, at the park and at town buildings. They cost $13,450 in total.
