CHURUBUSCO — The town of Churubusco welcomed new artwork to its downtown business district with the unveiling of a mural.

The mural was painted by 46 Graphics owner Bret Keister and depicts a lake scene with a shifty-eyed Oscar, hiding under a clump of grass.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 31, and included food trucks, raffles and live music by local talent Trent Boston.

Keister free-handed the mural, “one step at a time.”

The mural gives a nod to town legend Oscar the Turtle, as Churubusco celebrates the 70th anniversary of the hunt for Oscar this year.
