Special visit

Robert Gecowets of Angola gets a special visit Thursday from his daughter, Beth Davis, also from Angola, and her dog, Bailey, at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation. Davis, who lives near Northern Lakes, typically takes her dog on a walk and swings by to visit her father. Visitation to nursing facilities is not allowed due to COVID-19 and its propensity to attack older people. Katie Kline, Northern Lakes director of nursing, said special visits such as the one between Gecowets and Davis can be arranged in advance. Otherwise, staff recommends using virtual visits through Facetime or Skype, among others.
