Lion Larry Allen rings the bell

Larry Allen, a Lions Club member for 53 years, is one of 16 Kendallville Lions supporting this year’s Salvation Army Red Kettle drive. Kendallville Lions Club volunteers were scheduled to ring for the Red Kettle campaign all day (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) on Tuesday and Thursday this week. The club, approaching 96 years of local community service, has annually worked this event. Ellyne Sollenberger of Kendallville leads the project. Becca Lamon is the Kendallville Lions Club president. The money collected locally stays local, helping people following disasters and with other forms of outreach when they have nowhere else to turn. More bell ringers are needed. To sign up, call Sollenberger at 260-582-9609 or go online: registertoring.com.
