Teacher is Light the Night’s Honored Hero

Katie Probst shares her story of battling Stage 2A Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the kickoff event for the 2019 Northeast Indiana Light the Night Walk, held Aug. 29 at Cobblestone Golf Course in Kendallville. Probst, a third-grade teacher at Wayne Center Elementary School in Kendallville and a mother of three, is the Honored Hero for this year’s walk Tuesday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m. at East Noble High School. Northeast Indiana Light the Night committee member Erica Dekko emceed the kickoff. Individuals can sign up to be a team captain or walker at lightthenight.org/events/northeast-indiana. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk funds treatments that are saving the lives of patients today.
