DeKalb County Retired Teachers learned about ACRES Land Trust from staff members Heather Barth, left, and Lettie Haver, right, at the group’s March meeting. Founded in 1960, ACRES is protecting and preserving more than 5,700 acres in 93 preserves. Nearly 72 miles of walking trails are open and free to everyone. The program for the June meeting of the DeKalb County Retired Teachers will be Barbara Olenyik Morrow talking about her book, “Hardwood Glory: A Life of John Wooden.”
