T & R Junction honored as Business of the Year

Tammy Frost, right, owner of T & R Junction in Garrett, accepts the Garrett Business of the Year Award from Mayor Todd Fiandt. The local eatery was recognized for providing more than 16,000 meals to DeKalb County residents more than 10 weeks last spring following the closure of schools and businesses due to COVID-19. Frost and a team of volunteers prepared and packaged meals for pick up at the restaurant, and delivered care packages to families that were without transportation in what was originally a one-week project. Frost also collaborated with Garrett-Keyser-Butler Schools to provide meals for students during spring break and received donations of more than $23,000 from the community to help purchase food and packaging supplies. Fiandt thanked Frost and all involved for their amazing effort to provide meals for the community.
