Festival kids off summer reading at the library

A festival in the Garrett Library Park Saturday  kicked off the summer reading reading program. Activities included a bounce house and other inflatables from the Indiana Air National Guard, chalk art, sno-cones and freeze-dried ice cream. At left, Jackson Hamilton, 6, chooses a raspberry sno-cone served up by the Garrett Friends of the Library Saturday. At right, Shelby Wells, 11, is shown with her chalk design promoting summer reading.
