LAKE GEORGE — A Fremont man crashed his motorcycle near Lake George and the Michigan border Wednesday night, a Steuben County Sheriff’s Department news release said.

At about 10:15 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident at North C.R. 150W, south of West C.R. 800N.

Jeffrey Bauhof, 40, Fremont, apparently lost control of the 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving and crashed on southbound C.R. 150W. Emergency response personnel found him lying on the side of the road.

Bauhof was air lifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, by Samaritan Air for treatment of his injuries.

Police said Bauhof was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor. The crash is still under investigation.

Agencies involved at the incident included the sheriff’s department, Steuben County Emergency Medical Service and Fremont Fire Rescue.
