Asphalt being laid for trail

Workers with Brooks Construction, Fort Wayne, lay asphalt at the approach to Scoop's Ice Cream in the 3300 block of North S.R. 127 on Tuesday. Approaches to businesses were supposed to be competed Tuesday and paving of the actual Steuben County Multipurpose Trail is expected to start today, said Cory Staley, project engineer with the Fort Wayne firm Butler Fairman & Seufert. Asphalt paving is going to be complete, weather permitting, on Thursday, Staley said. It is hoped the project that was supposed to be done last year will be completed by the end of this month. Weather delayed the project greatly both last year and so far this construction season. Ironically, after the crews moved north from Scoop's, it started raining.
