Wilson has since sought treatment for his battle with depression.

Rapper Vanilla Ice rose to fame in 1990 with the release of his album, 'To The Extreme', which topped the Billboard charts and sold 15 million copies worldwide. However, his next album, 'Mind Blowin', was a creative and commercial failure. The rapper later claimed that this led to depression, and that same year, he purposely tried to overdose on heroin, even writing a suicide note. He's since said that creating music is his therapy for dealing with the stress of fame.

The music icon contemplated taking his own life in 1969 while engaged to his girlfriend Linda Woodrow. Unsure whether to go through with the marriage, Elton stuck his head in an oven and turned on the gas. Thankfully, his long-time friend Bernie Taupin found him with his head propped up on a pillow in the oven doorway and stopped the tragedy from happening.
Paris Jackson

In 2013, Michael Jackson's daughter, then 15, shared some disturbing photos to a Tumblr account that featured suicidal images of other teenagers. Jackson attempted to take her own life on June 5 of that year: she cut her arm with a kitchen knife and swallowed 20 Motrin, according to a 911 call. She was subsequently rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, where she recovered from her injuries.

After a very brief engagement to pop star Ariana Grande in 2018, the former 'Saturday Night Live' cast member - who has been open about his mental health issues - experienced online harassment due to the break-up. In December 2018, he wrote on Instagram: "I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore. I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so." The post was later deleted and in the following hours, the NYPD conducted a welfare check on the comedian, who also received support from fans and other celebrities.

She confessed: "I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself."

The country music legend went through a dark period of drug use and depression that culminated in 1967 with an attempt to take his own life. In the autumn of that year, the 'Hurt' singer took many drugs before he went into Nickajack Cave, located in a remote part of Marion County, Tennessee. Depressed, Johnny hid in the cave for several hours with the intention of taking his own life. However, he later claimed to have had a religious awakening that stopped him.

The chart-topping singer made a high-profile suicide attempt in 2012. Sinead reached out to her fans via Twitter, issuing a cry for help in a series of messages. She wrote: "I realize I will be in trouble 4 doing this but ... Ireland is a VERY hard place to find help in. So having tried other ways 1st im asking … does any 1 know a psychiatrist in Dublin or Wicklow who could urgently see me today please? I’m really un-well ... and in danger … and I desperately need to get back on meds today. am in serious danger. (sic)" Nine hours after those disturbing messages, she wrote that she was feeling better and had resumed taking her medication.

The British TV star attempted to take her own life after hitting rock bottom due to bankruptcy and mental health problems. Speaking to 'Mark Dolan Tonight' on GB News, Katie said: "I hit rock bottom. It was that bad that I tried to commit suicide, but I've come up from that. "You can get out of that rut. If I can do it, you can do it. Remember, nothing is that bad."
