KENDALLVILLE — The East Noble school board accepted the retirements of four long-time employees on Feb. 20.

Dona Mossburg, arts teacher at South Side Elementary School, will retire at the end of this school year with 40 years of teaching at East Noble.

Gary Ort, assistant athletic director at East Noble High School, will retire at the end of this school year with 29 years at East Noble.

Linda Franks, food service manager at Wayne Center Elementary School, will retire effective March 22, with 34 years working for East Noble.

Janis Engerman, food service manager at East Noble High School, will retire effective March 4 with 27 years with East Noble.

In addition, the board accepted two resignations: Kevin Haydl as assistant marching band director at East Noble High School, effective at the end of the school year; and Elaine Herbst as eighth-grade girls’ basketball coach at East Noble Middle School. It was effective Feb. 12.

The new hires, to be approved upon completion of the required expanded background screening, are Mary Jo Johnson as a three-hour food service assistant at East Noble High School, effective Feb. 15; and Kimberly Berkley, Becca Patton and Maude-Jo Yerrick to share the choreographer position at East Noble High School.

The board’s next regular meeting is March 6, at 6 p.m., at South Side Elementary School.
