Marie Heller celebrates 105 years

Marie Heller, a resident at Ascension Living Sacred Heart Village, Avilla, is celebrating her 105th birthday on Sunday. She moved to California at age 4 and grew up there before moving to Indiana after World War II. She was married to Martin Heller, and they had three daughters and son, who is recently deceased. Heller said she was mostly a homemaker and raised the children, but did work outside the home for a short period. She laughed when asked about the secret to her longevity: “It was good stuff that we had back then. It’s different now.”
