Caucus winner

Kendallville Mayor Suzanne Handshoe, left, stands with Corey Boese, Monday’s Republican Party caucus winner to take the seat of Larry Davis in District 4 on the Kendallville City Council. Boese was the only eligible candidate stepping forward, and was selected by an oral vote in front of an audience of 12 community members at the Kendallville Public Library. Handshoe swore Boese in, and the new officeholder will take his seat at the Aug. 20 meeting of the council. Davis, whose term in office was up at the end of this calendar year, decided to resign early.
