A truckers salute to one of their own

More than 80 big trucks went out of their way February 1, to salute one of their own. The truckers drove past the home of Daryl Kauffman, who is seriously ill. Kauffman is the co-owner of D Bar D Trucking and Crossroad Tours, with his twin brother, Dale. The convoy was organized in less than 24 hours. The group first gathered at the 5&20 Restaurant and the Alpha Building Center in Shipshewana before cruising past Kauffman’s home. Kauffman was seated in the passenger’s seat of a vehicle at the end of his home’s driveway, surrounded by family and friends. Kauffman had a C.B. radio at hand and talked with trucker as they drove past his house.
