Our Hope welcomes new pastor

Our Hope Lutheran Church and School, 1826 Trinity Drive, Huntertown, celebrated a momentous event July 28. The Rev. Michael Dennis Terkula was ordained and installed into the holy ministry with Dr. Daniel Brege officiating and Rev. David Easterday of Lake George Lutheran Chapel delivering the sermon. Pastor Terkula graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary and holds an MBA from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in management from Purdue University. Prior to studies at the seminary, Terkula held various finance and IT positions in the health care industry for 22 years with various hospital, physician and insurance organizations, most recently with Humana as director of informatics. He has been married for 26 years to Deaconess Carole Terkula, who serves at St. John Lutheran Columbia City. They have two grown sons living and working outside of the district. Pastor Terkula is an avid bicyclist, having rode coast to coast in 2002. He has logged more than 150,000 lifetime miles.
