KENDALLVILLE — The Churubusco boys golf team finished seventh out of 12 teams during Friday’s East Noble Boys Golf Sectional. Despite seeing their season come to an end, the Eagles’ Wyatt Johnson earned an individual regional qualification, shooting an 80 to place third out of all golfers who weren’t on advancing teams.

Also scoring for the Eagles were Cole Hart (87), Tyler Miller (97) and Taylan Yontz (100). Churubusco’s fifth man, Kuper Papenbrock, shot a 107 on the afternoon. As a team, the Eagles shot a 364 to come in behind Garrett and Central Noble, which each scored 348.

Carroll was the sectional champion with a 300. The Chargers were led by freshman Cam GeRue, who finished with a 71 for the individual medal. Also qualifying for regional were DeKalb (304) and Angola (330).
