Chargers fifth at Homestead golf invite

The Carroll girls golf team opened its season Aug. 5 with a fifth-place finish during the Homestead invite at Chestnut Hills Golf Club.

The Chargers shot a 382 to come in behind Bishop Dwenger (378), Northridge (365), Penn (330) and the champion Spartans (292).

Elizabeth Kindler led Carroll with an 88 on the course. Tiffany Chin and Emma Male each shot a 97 on the afternoon, followed by Melissa Francis with a 100 and Emily Linder with a 102.

Homestead’s Madi Dabagia was the individual medalist with a 34 on the front and a 35 on the back for 69 overall.

On Aug. 6, the Chargers placed third out of 12 teams during the Huntington North invite at Norwood Golf Course. Kindler and Francis led the team with a pair of 86s, followed by Male (94), Chin (95) and Linder (104). Homestead once again placed first with a 293, placing all five golfers in the top six.
