AUBURN — Ben Fliehman of Auburn received an early Father’s Day gift when he was named the 2019 Indiana Haggar Hall of Fame Dad.
Fliehman, 24, an Auburn firefighter, was nominated by his wife, Maci, in a national contest sponsored by Haggar Clothing Co.
In her winning entry, she wrote: “After working 24-hour shifts with the fire department, he is never too tired to spend time with our two boys. The way he protects and provides for our family is something I could never thank him enough for; his heart of service is truly one of a kind.”
The Fliehmans are the parents of two sons, Isaac, 2, and Emitt, 7 months. They have been married for three years.
Maci Fliehman said she saw the contest on Instagram, inviting people to submit a picture and a brief statement about the nominee.
Expanding on her nomination statement, Maci Fliehman said Friday, “Being parents to two kids 2 and under is quite a challenge, but Ben makes it easy. He makes every day a good day. … I definitely couldn’t be a mom without him.”
As one of 50 state winners, Ben Fliehman will receive a Haggar wardrobe of dress and casual pants, a J.M. Haggar suit and an exclusive Haggar Hall of Fame Dad blazer.
