AUBURN — The Auburn Fire Department extinguished a fire in a dust collector at Cooper Standard Automotive early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called at 2 a.m. to the industrial plant at 725 W. 11th St. They found a fire in a dust collector unit for a Wheelabrator blasting machine.

Firefighters extinguished the fire inside the unit by 2:18 a.m. and worked with Cooper Standard employees to remove the remaining dust debris from the unit, said Fire Chief Michael VanZile.

The fire did not extend to any other part of the building, and no injuries occurred.

Firefighters returned to their stations at 3 a.m.
