Fire destroys barn

Firefighters pull apart the remains of a barn fire at 2141 C.R. 9 north of Corunna Tuesday morning. Corunna Fire Chief Dennis Treesh said the structure was on the ground and still on fire when crews arrived on scene. The fire was called under control at 10:51 a.m., some 20 minutes after the first call and crews left the scene shortly after noon. No one was injured in the blaze. The homeowner was able to rescue a dog that was in a kennel next to the barn. Crews from Corunna, Ashley-Hudson, Garrett, Waterloo, Butler, Kendallville and Auburn were called to the scene.
