Crash on icy road hurts driver

A Garrett man suffered an injury in this crash Thursday at 5:53 a.m., the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department reported. Dale L. Hook, 51, complained of arm pain and was transported to Parkview DeKalb hospital for treatment. Police said Hook was driving a 2002 Saturn SC2 southbound in the 1000 block of S.R. 427, south of Hamilton, when he lost control on the icy pavement and went off the west side of the road into a ditch. The car rolled once and landed on its wheels. The Hamilton police and fire departments and Parkview DeKalb EMS assisted police.
