Drive-through clinic administers free flu shots

Jennifer Myers of Waterloo receives a flu shot Wednesday at a drive-through vaccination clinic in the DeKalb High School parking lot. Volunteer nurse Angie Dunakin, RN, from the Laurels of DeKalb administers the free shot. The DeKalb County Health Department sponsored the annual event. In the first three hours of the four-hour clinic, 180 people received shots, surpassing the total of 150 at last fall’s event, said DeKalb County’s public health nurse, Cheryl Lynch, RN. The clinic was supported by Parkview DeKalb Hospital and the DeKalb County Central United School District.
