Crash injures Butler woman

A Butler woman suffered injuries when this car crashed Thursday at 7:20 a.m. in the 6300 block of S.R. 8, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said. Kjia Woodcox, 31, reported pain to her chest, stomach and wrist and had a minor hand laceration. Butler firefighters found the 2013 Mazda CX5 on the north side of S.R. 8 in an embankment. The vehicle was traveling westbound when Woodcox fell asleep and drove into a field on the north side of the road, police said. The vehicle became airborne as it traveled from the east side to the west side of the embankment. It crashed into the embankment, causing airbags to deploy. Parkview DeKalb EMS, Butler Fire Department and Southeast Fire (Concord Township and Spencerville) and Parker Service assisted county police.
